Workstation Assesment

The Ergonomist uses information about people, for example, their size (height, weight etc.), and then looks at demands on the individual, like strength, work timings, overuse of muscles, static holding posture and workloads. He then matches the working environment, like the chair and the workstation to the concerned individual.

A good computer workstation layout can reduce the risk of experiencing computer related health problems. A good workstation layout should allow the computer user flexibility to reach, use and read the computer monitor, keyboard, mouse, source document, document holder, phone and other office accessories. Generally, keep those items that you use frequently close to you to avoid frequent reaching and awkward postures when you use them. Therefore, how we arrange the workstation to fit our individual needs is probably the most important consideration to work comfortably.
